The Republic of Finland has offered to train Nigeria school boys and girls on Information Communication Technology (ICT) as part of activities to mark her 100 years independence.
Ambassador of the country in Nigeria Mrs. Porto Suomela – Chowdhury disclosed the plan when she paid a courtesy visit to the.Minister of Communications, Adebayo Shittu in his office today
Chowdhury said that Finland was glad to add Africa in the line of activities for the celebration and has identified the gesture as a way of giving support to young school boys and girls because they are the future of country.
She said Finland is collaborating with Nokia and other resource persons to carry out the training Programme.
She added that celebrations have started in their embassies all over the world, and it would be all through the year. She said the ICT training for Nigeria will start from February 21st – 24th, 2017 at the Ventures Platform in Abuja and subsequently to other parts of Africa.
The Minister congratulated them on the celebration of 100 years anniversary of self independence and applauded the Finland government for having Nigeria in the Programme of activities to mark their anniversary
He said that Ministry of Communications would support the Programme and would attend all the events through hoping that it would renew the relationship between the two countries.
